Robert Ernest Swanson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Swanson on April 16, 2024, at the age of 78 years.
Bob was born in Brownfield, Alberta on October 9, 1945. He moved to the Wetaskiwin area as a boy and attended Lakedell School.
He permanently relocated to the Thorsby area in 1989. He spent his life doing the things that he loved. He owned an Auto Wreckers in Edmonton for many years. He was the first in Western Canada to collect, flatten and recycle cars. This work allowed him to travel to every corner of the province. His love for anything automotive continued after. He spent the last 10 years looking after their farm caring for his chickens and other animals.
Bob will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Lori (Belke). His children and grandchildren; Roy (Stefanie) Swanson, children Alyica & Braedon. Daniel (Robyn) Swanson, daughter Olivia. Kevin (Dallas) Swanson, children Sierra, Lannie, Nathan, Rachel.
Kristina (Barry) Morgan, children Justin, Nathan, Cohen, Jasper. Jennifer (Wayne) Ball, children Aaralyn, Jaice, Greyson. David (Madaline) Swanson, daughter Blaire. Sister, Brenda Kirschenman and Brother, Melvin Swanson.
He was predeceased by both parents, Roy & Erna. His sisters, Irene, Dorothy and Shirley. Granddaughter, Montana. Along with many family members and lifelong friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Brenton R.C.M.P. Department and Mulhurst Fire Department for their help and care on the night of his passing.
A small family gathering will take place at a later date.
