It is with profound sadness that the family of Dave Darrigo announce his passing on March 22, 2024, at the age of 69 years. He will be missed by his siblings, Antoinetta Blakelock, Lisa (Frank) Ruggiero, and Emilio Darrigo (partner Barb), and his nephews, nieces, and great-nephew and great-nieces. Dave was predeceased by his parents Louis and Marguerite Darrigo.
Born in 1954 in Toronto to first-generation Italian-Canadian parents. Dave grew up fascinated by 1960s pop culture in all forms— comics, TV, film and novels. At an early age, he began to enjoy and study 1930s/’40s radio shows and pulp magazine fiction.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to his good friend Ron Hobbs and health advocate Marilyn who went far and beyond in making life easier for Dave during his health challenges.
We are so grateful to many individuals and organizations for their care and support of Dave over the years. Special and heartfelt thanks to M.J. and all her crew from Laedan Medical Transportation, the ICU staff of Mackenzie Health, staff of the Willow’s Estate LTC, Dr. Prince Aujla, Sonia MacDonald and staff of the Oak Ridges Dialysis Program, and Gloria from Gloria’s Oak Ridges Café. A huge thank you and deep appreciation to all of these caring people for their unending care, comfort, support and kindness.
A notice of Celebration of Life will be given with details to be determined. Donations to the Diabetes Canada or Kidney Foundation of Canada in Dave’s memory are appreciated.
