Obituary of WILLIAM (BILL) CHERNICHAN
WILLIAM (BILL) CHERNICHAN
Peacefully at the age of 94 on Friday, October 27, 2017, Bill Chernichan went to be with Our Lord while at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, Hodgson, Manitoba.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters Anne Duniec and Pauline Kolbuck; numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Harry and Rita; brother Mike Chernichan; sisters Kay Luzensky, Ruth Cymbalisty, Lena McKenna, Nellie Kernot and Mary Wylychenko.
Bill was born and raised in Dallas, Manitoba where he lived his life doing what he loved most, raising cattle. He loved his home and enjoyed visiting with friends from the neighbouring communities of Peguis First Nation, Fisher River Cree Nation and the Marble Ridge Hutterite Colony. Bill loved the outdoors and often talked about his favourites like Bill Munroe and wanting to visit the Kentucky Blue Ridge Mountains. Bill was proud of his Ukrainian heritage and loved to sing in Ukrainian and English. Bill was very intelligent and enjoyed conversation on all subjects. He lived the last four years at the Fisher Branch Chalet.
Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews Don Cymbalisty, Kevin Lamoureux, Ron Kolbuck, Greg Safiniuk, Daryl Bear and Devon Truthwaite. Honorary Pallbearers are Ken Wylychenko , Doug Chernichan, and Bob Schreyer.
