Trueman E. Babcock – 2016

Trueman E. Babcock
God has called Home one of his faithful servants! Trueman E.
Babcock has died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Trueman was a
resident of Camden Park Terrace for three years. He previously lived
at 61 Parkland Drive (Sunny Brae) for over fifty years. He was the son
of the late Arthur and Bertha (Estabrooks) Babcock and was very proud
that he was born (down home) in Amherst, Nova Scotia on March 29,
1918, the youngest of five children.
Trueman was the last surviving member of his immediate
family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ethel (Totten) in 1962
and by his second wife, Norma (Bunker) in 2001. He was a Veteran of
WWII, having served with the Canadian Army Corps of Signals in Canada,
England, Europe and Italy (1942 – 1946).
Trueman was retired from CN Telecommunications (Senior Plant
Chief) with 48 years’ service. He was a very active member
of First Baptist Church Moncton, served on the Deacons Board for
several terms and was a Deacon Emeritus. He was active in many other
capacities in the church. When health permitted, he enjoyed greeting
people at the Church Street door. Church was a very important part of
his life.
Trueman enjoyed his flower garden, loved music and enjoyed
baseball (Toronto Blue Jays) and hockey (Montreal Canadians).
A Service to celebrate and honor Trueman’s life
will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 10:00 am with
Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. There will be a reception in
the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. The Committal
Service will take place at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place
at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In memory of Trueman, donations to the First Moncton United
Baptist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online
