Obituary for Sidney Wayne Hampton
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sid Hampton announce his passing on October 29, 2017 at the age of 65 years. Sid was predeceased by his parent’s Bill (1979) and Myrtle (1991), brother Bruce (1971) and sister Linda (2000). Sid is survived by his brothers Bill (Penny) Picture Butte, AB; Ray (Sandy) Strathmore, AB; Tom (Kathy) Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sid was a graduate of the Class of ‘69 at Lord Beaverbrook High School. Sid had a varied working career which included the home building industry, welding and fabrication, and truck driving. He was a devoted member of the Lions Club for many years. Sid dealt with kidney failure over the last 10 years and has made many friends in the nursing staff at the South Calgary Dialysis Unit and his family is thankful for their care and understanding of Sid. The family would like to also thank Dr. Vitale and the staff of Unit 37 at the Foothills Hospital for their kindness and compassion in caring for Sid in his final days. Sid’s wish was to be cremated. Celebration of Sid’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (9202 Horton Rd SW) on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
