Desrosiers, Ruth Sadie [Marriott] – It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Mrs Ruth Desrosiers at the age of 78 years, Mrs Desrosiers passed away on Sunday May 28, 2017 at the Temiskaming Hospital with her loving and cherished family by her side.
Born in Harley Township on August 26, 1938 to the late Reuben Marriott and to the late Grace Middleton, Mrs Desrosiers will be remembered as an amazing baker. Her chocolate chip cookies were second to none as were her pies and other goodies. She looked forward to her morning gathering at Tim Horton’s with friends to catch up on the latest, as well she loved to read, do puzzles and work in her garden to ‘make it work’. But most of all she loved being in the presence of her loving family and she looked forward to any time spent with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her presence will be missed by all those who knew her.
Mrs Desrosiers is predeceased by her parents; her husband Clifford Desrosiers; her sons Stanley and Garry Desrosiers; her siblings Carl Marriott and Nina Knott as well as her brother-in-law Doug McNeil. She leaves behind her loving children Colleen (Mathiew) Ryan, Steve (Janice) Desrosiers, Bruce (Christine) Desrosiers, Pauline (Fern) Dinel and her daughter-in-law Christine Viau. Also surviving are her sixteen cherished grandchildren; twelve cherished great grandchildren and her siblings Shirley (Angus) Campbell, Rhona (Fern) Boucher, Donny ( Kerri) Marriott, Faye (Dalton) Smith and Doris McNeil.
The family would sincerely like to thank Dr Vincent Dubois and the nurses at the Temiskaming Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion given to Mrs Desrosiers and her family. Your acts of kindness did not go unnoticed.
In keeping with Mrs Desrosiers’ wishes cremation has taken place at Lakeview crematorium, Haileybury. A celebration of Life will be held at the Dymond Community Hall on June 17, 2017 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. As expressions of sympathy contributions may be made to the Temikaming Hospital Palliative Care Room or to the House of Kin.
