Obituary of Rosena Anderson
ANDERSON, R. Gertrude “Gert” (Leigh) – Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 with her family at her side. Gert of Peterborough, formerly of Oakville and Scotia Junction in her 104th year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph for 74 years. Loving mother of Leigh (Christine) of Surrey BC, Gaye (late Al Greville) of Gravenhurst, James (Penelope) of Peterborough, Donald (Jane) of Peterborough and Constance (Andre Douchane) of Tucson AZ. Dear grandmother of eleven, great grandmother of many, and great-great grandmother of one. Sister of Hilda Isard of Kitchener ON, and the late Horace “Bud” Leigh, Constance Wood and Wilfred Leigh. A long-time member of St. Jude’s Anglican Church, Oakville and St Aidan’s Anglican Church, Oakville. Gert volunteered with the Oakville Hospital Auxiliary, the Red Cross and various seniors residences in Oakville. Following Mum’s wishes, Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME. Donations to the Hospital For Sick Children would be appreciated and may be made at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca. Special thank you to the staff of Rubidge Retirement Residence and more recently Fairhaven Home for the kindness and care they provided for Mum in her final years.
