Death Notice
Surrounded by loving family on Saturday, October 21, 2017, Gene Carson passed away at the age of 60. Loving brother of Cathy (Henry) Lariviere, and dear brother-in-law of Maryanne Carson. Loved uncle of Lisa (Dave) Desantis, Kelly (Anthony) Shaw, Kristy (Mark) Calzonnetti, Stacey (Andy) Willing and great uncle to eight nieces and nephews. Cherished godfather of Jonathon. Predeceased by his parents Bob and Shirley Carson and by his brother Bill Carson. Gene will be sadly missed by many friends across Canada and the British Virgin Islands. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Gene’s life will be held at 29 Sunrise Cres, Dundas, ON, on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Gene had a passion for weather, and as a result he closely tracked Hurricane Irma as it approached his former home in the BVI. He was deeply affected by the devastation suffered by his friends and colleagues. Gene helplessly watched the footage of the aftermath and searched for some way he could help. Had he been in better health, he undoubtedly would have been on the first flight to support his friends and help everyone get back on their feet. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to the BVI Support Appeal through Virgin Unite at virgin.com in Gene’s memory. Through your donations, Gene can lend the support to the community that gave him so much.
