Peacefully at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 29, 2016, in his 89th year. Loving husband to Muriel “Mick” (Rouse). Greatly adored father of Sharon Delaney (predeceased Bob), Milton “Butch” (Cindy), and Shelley Veit (Terry). Proud grandfather of Becky Delaney (Greg), Abby Fabi (Rob), Lexi, Tanya, Richard (Tara), Brent Veit (Erin), and Blayne Veit (Kate). Great grandfather to Josh, Brendan, Matthew, Emma, Sadie, Selina, and Chantal. Predeceased by his parents Winnifred (Price) and Victor, nine brothers, and three sisters. Survived by brothers Gene (Joyce) and Pete (Cassie), and sisters Martha and Peg (Louie). Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Richard owned his own painting business for over 60 years and worked seasonally at the Tobacco Warehouse. Richard was also a member of the Masons. He loved spending time with family; fishing; boating; or on family vacations. His love of hockey spanned from taking his son to the arena, to watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play. Richard loved all of his children and his grandchildren and took great pride in each of their achievements. Richard was a fun loving and caring soul who will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Family and friends will be received at Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Young Street, Tillsonburg, on Wednesday, January 04, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Richard will take place at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations have been requested to be made to the Terry Fox Society, Purrfect Companions, or Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund.
