“Safe in the arms of Jesus”. With sadness we announce the passing of Reynold “Ray” Joseph Schmalz on 06 February 2017 in Port Alberni, BC at the age of 88. Ray was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan on 26 March 1928. Survived by his loving family: son Jerry (Roxy) and daughter Wendy (Tony Wedam), grandchildren Vincent and Robyn (Brock Little) and three great-grandchildren , Logan, Morgan, and Dilynn. He is also survived by two sisters Selma Weiss and Ester (Harvey) Wendel, as well as many, many nieces as nephews. Predeceased by his wife of 61 years Barbara Schmalz, three sisters and five brothers. Ray was raised on…
