Reina Kavanagh-Daigle
1921-2017
REXTON, NB – Reina Kavanagh-Daigle passed away
peacefully after a brief illness at the age of 95 on Saturday, January
7, 2017 at the Villa Maria, Saint-Louis-de-Kent where she resided for
many years. Born in Village Saint Pierre, she was the
daughter of the late Pierre Richard and late Alma (Arsenault)
Richard. Before retiring, she was a school
teacher. She attended the Immaculate Conception Roman
Catholic Church and was a member of the CWL.
Reina will be sadly missed by her daughter, Mary Simmons
(Dave) of Colorado Springs; three sons, Peter Kavanagh (Joyce) of
Woodstock, Terrence Kavangh (Cathy) of Richibucto, Kevin Kavanagh
(Niki) of Miramichi.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Aurelie Richard (late
Lloyd), Collette Richard (late Norman); daughter-in-law, Rita Kavanagh
(late Joe); five step-children, Louis Daigle (Patricia McGuinness),
Joan Duggan (Gerry), Marguerite Paquette (Pierre), Annette Brideau
(Paul), Eugene Daigle; several grandchildren and great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Reina was predeceased by 1st husband,
Frank “Chappy” Kavanagh (1975),
2nd husband, Martial Daigle (2009);
son, Joe; brothers, Norman, Lloyd, infant Lloyd, at birth
François and sister, Lillian
Poirier.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home
in Richibucto on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Thursday at 9:00
am until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on
Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 10:30 am, Immaculate Conception Roman
Catholic Church, Rexton. Donations in Reina’s
memory made to the Rexton CWL or Villa Maria would be appreciated by
the family.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Villa Maria
for their excellent care, Dr. André Boucher, Dr. Pierre
LeBlanc, Dr. Michelle LeBlanc and staff of Stella Maris Hospital also
for their care and kindness and the staff at Thompson’s
Funeral Home for the wonderful care and services.
