With sad hearts, the family
of Philomene “Phyllis” Mary Rickard, widow of the late Earl
A. Rickard, announce her passing at York Care Centre, Fredericton, on
Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the age of
92.
Phyllis was born at
Pokemouche, NB on January 15, 1924, a daughter of the late Xavier and
Lucille (Mazerolle) Hachey. She was a member of the Corbett Avenue
Wesleyan Church.
Phyllis is survived by two
cherished grandchildren, Brent (Shelly) Rickard of Noonan, NB and
Shelley (Currie) Curtis of Gray Rapids, NB; also, four much loved
great-grandchildren, Brett Curtis, Sydney Rickard, Bailey Curtis and
Michael Rickard. Phyllis also leaves behind a loving sister, Jessie
(Carl) McMinniman of Fredericton and dear brothers, Ernest
(June) Blanchard of Saint John, NB and Albert (Kay) Blanchard of ON; a
special niece, Faye (Peter) McMinniman of Fredericton as well as a
number of other nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents and
husband Earl (1989), Phyllis was predeceased by her son Arthur
“Art” Rickard (2009); sisters, Emily, Regina, Lucy, Kathleen
and Maggie and brothers Aurele, Frank and
Camille.
The family will receive
condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road,
Fredericton on Monday, January 2, 2017 from
2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A service celebrating
the life of Phyllis Rickard will be held from Corbett Avenue Wesleyan
Church, 55 Corbett Ave., Fredericton on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2
PM with Pastor Norm McDonald officiating. Interment in the Sunny Bank
Cemetery at a later date.
The family suggests memorial
contributions be sent to Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church or to a
favorite charity of your
choice.
