Obituary of Petrus “Peter” Wygergangs
WYGERGANGS, Peter (1936-2017) – Peacefully, surrounded by his family on December 21, 2017 at University Hospital. Beloved husband of Nellie (nee Van Kempen-Crombeen) and his first wife the late Kathleen (Blondeel 1990). Loving father of Richard and Rachel and their children; step-children Wayne, Cathy, Bob, Nancy, Pete, Joe and their spouses. Peter will be greatly missed by all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his foster son Clifford Myers (Molly). Dear brother of Henry (Ingrid), Josie Renes. Brother-in-law of Tony, Bill and Frank Van Kempen and their spouses and Margaret Gardiner, Johanna and Fay Van Kempen. Cousin of Tony (Marg) and Herman in Canada and many cousins in Holland. Peter will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by parents Lambertus and Antonia Wygergangs, brothers Joe, Albert; sisters Jane, Mary; brothers-in-law Andy, Norm, Bert and Ed. Peter loved dancing and gardening and was proud of his job as a plumber. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and a 50 year member of the CBD Club. Peter spent his last years at Bluewater Leisure Living where he made many new friends. He was a kind and compassionate man with a great sense of humour. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who took such good care of him. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, December 29th at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to a charity of choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
