Obituary for Patricia Irene Vehkalahti
In loving memory of
Patricia Vehkalahti (nee Wright)
March 1st, 1948 – December 20th, 2017
Patricia Irene Vehkalahti, aged 69, passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2017 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Eric, in 2016, her parents Joseph and Myrtle Wright and her in laws Robert and Patricia Killingbeck and Heikki and Anna Vehkalathi. She is survived by her loving children Aaron Vehkalahti (Christina Jessup), Cindy Vehkalahti (Nelson Hamel) and her grandchildren Makayla Hamel, Brayden Hamel, Gia Vehkalahti, and step grandson Cody Lacoste-Hamel. Also surviving are her sisters Lorraine (Hedley) Parsons, Ann Driscoll, Judy (Bernie) Christian, Jean (Robert) Cousineau and Janet (Walter) Reid, in laws Marnie (late Reg) Robinson, Jim (Linda) Killingbeck, Ruth (Chris) Swartz, John (Carolyn) Killingbeck and Andre (late Lisette) Brochu and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat as she was known to family and friends was active in her community, working with St. Andrews United Church, Black River Matheson Minor Hockey Association and the Matheson Rotary Club as well as a Board member of the Minto Counselling Centre for many years. Pat worked as a Registered Nurse for 34 years at the Bingham Memorial Hospital and for 13 years at the Anson General Hospital.
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at Irvine & Irvine funeral home, 641 deTroyes Avenue, Iroquois Falls on Saturday December 23rd, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm & 6 to 8 pm.
