Obituary for Nancy Jacques
JACQUES, Nancy Anne (Taylor) died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, November 9, 2017, in her 91st year. Nancy was predeceased by her husband Willis Newcombe Jacques (2007) and her daughter Mary Jacques (2006). Loving mother to Katie (Brian) Aucoin of Toronto, Ed (Patty) of Petrolia, Tom (Sue) of Flamborough, and Nan (Ian) Malpass of Unionville. Dear Nana to her grandchildren, Geoff (Katelyn), Magdalyn, Joshua, Mason, Alanna, Tom, Sam, Micaela, Willow, Andrew, Abbey, Fawn, Christian, Kosi, Jakob, Avery and great grandmother to Joel. Survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Taylor. Also predeceased by her parents, Dr. Frank and Mary (nee MacGillivray) Taylor, and her brother Forbes Taylor. Nancy was born in Listowel and graduated from The University of Western Ontario with a bachelor of science in nursing. Nancy met Willis while she was in London, they were soon married, and the two of them spent 53 wonderful years together. Nancy and Willis raised five children in Petrolia where Nancy was a member of the IODE and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. Visitors will be received by the family on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11 am. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Petrolia Community Foundation (Oil Heritage District Community Centre) or the C.E.E. Hospital Foundation (www.ceehf.ca).
