Peeples, Murdo Conrad, age 75 of Grande Anse, Richmond Co.
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday,
February 14, 2017 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Point
Tupper, Richmond Co., on February 5, 1942 he was a son of the late
Earl and Christine (MacDonald) Peeples.
Murdo was a retired employee of Stora Forest Industries for
35 years. He was a life member of the former Port Hawkesbury Lions
Club; an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 47, St.
Peter’s. He loved snowmobiling and hunting.
Murdo is survived by his brother, Wes (Lillian), Grande
Anse; sisters, Margaret Wilkins, Nictaux; Kaye Morgan, Cleveland, Anna
(Peter) MacIntyre, Grantville. Murdo was a favourite uncle to his many
nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandniece and
great-grandnephew. He was predeceased by his
brothers-in-law, Harold Wilkins and A.J. Morgan.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February
18 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St., Port
Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 19 in
St. Mark’s United Church, 504 Bernard Street, Port Hawkesbury with
Rev. Donna Lovelace officiating. Burial will take place at a later
date in Black River Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in
memory of Murdo may be made the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank Dr. Collins, Dr. Pluta and the
nursing staff of Strait Richmond Hospital for their care and
compassion during Murdo’s stay in Strait Richmond
Hospital.
