Mary was born on March 25th, 1921 in Beverly, Alberta. She was the 4th born of 8 children to Mike and Mary Trupish. Mary passed away on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 at the Creston Valley Regional Hospital. She was 96 years of age.
Mary grew up in the area of Bonnyville and Glendon, Alberta. She married Alex in 1941. They spent most of their married life raising 7 children in Kimberley, BC. She enjoyed cooking, canning, bingo, playing the slots at various casinos, and putting puzzles together. Mary spent the last 11 years in Creston were she was close to some of her daughters and her son.
Mary was predeceased by her 7 siblings and husband Alex who passed away in 1984. She is survived by her 6 daughters and her one son, Laura Oak-Knight and her 5 children, 14 great grand children and 9 great great grand children, June Woodske and her 4 children and 4 great grand children, Ethel (Bob) Glover, their 3 children and 2 great grand children, Bernice McDonald and her son, Jim Onfrychuk, Cassie (Ken) Clift, their 3 children and 2 great grand children, and Linda (Bill) Reid, their 2 children and 2 great grand children.
A memorial service for Mary will be held on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at 3:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kimberley. Her interment will be in the Kimberley Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in her honour may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.
