NEW GLASGOW – Mary Kathleen Greene, 92, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully Friday, February 24, 2017, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Finlay Arthur and Catherine Ellen (MacLeod) Blair. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow.
Surviving are children, Blair (Betty), Pictou Landing and their children, Liam (Renee Kilburn), Devon, Colin and Neil; Barbara (Russell) Mannette, Porter’s Lake and their children, Erin (Brendon) Mercer, Kathleen (Andrew Harding); Boyd (Catherine McKean), New Glasgow and their children, Marianne (Kris Svendsen) and Hannah; Brenda (David) Tutty, New Glasgow and their children, Abby and Emily; sisters; Margaret Gillis, Antigonish; Betty MacDougall, New Glasgow; stepbrother; Duncan Greene, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, George Francis Greene; sons, Bruce and Bryce; sister, Jane Horton; sister-in-law, Nellie Greene; brothers-in-law, Robert Gillis, Donald MacDougall and Bill Horton.
In honour of Mary’s request, a private graveside service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow or Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit Endowment.
