CLARKE, MARILYN LOUISE – Peacefully with her loving family by her side at Bobby’s Hospice , Marilyn Louise Clarke went to be with her Lord and Saviour on December 9th, 2017; after a courageous 6 year battle with cancer, that she fought with the same grace and class with which she lived her life. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, nanny, great-nanny, sister, aunt and friend. She was a faithful, selfless and generous woman who will be greatly missed by her loving family. Born in Debec, NB on October 16th of 1941, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Pearl (Campbell) Straight. Marilyn worked for Hall & Fairweather’s Insurance for over 25 years. In her earlier years, she worked at the Provincial Hospital (Centracare) where she met the love of her life Lloyd Clarke, whom she was married to for 51 years. Besides Lloyd, Marilyn is survived by her son Lloyd Jr. (Jessica) of Woodmans’s Point; daughter Kimberly Godin (Todd Crawford) of Quispamsis and her great grandson Cody whom she raised as a son; also beloved step children Ann Borrebach (Albert) of Red Deer, AB, Danny of Musquash, Randy of Pearsonville, Heather Crawford (Howard) of Minto and Dawn Johnson of Saint John; sister Sandra Straight of Saint john; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was an active member of River Valley Weslyan Church and enjoyed fellowship with the Serendipity Bible Study Group. Along with her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by siblings Richard, James, Ken, Reginald, Agnes and Aurilla.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Thursday December 14, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday December 15 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a reception.
