May 8- 1939 – November 18- 2017 (age 78)
After a long illness, Margie Horgan went to Heaven on November 18th, 2017, leaving a family that is grieving but very grateful to have had her with them for many years of happiness, filled with laughter, love of God, and devotion to her family, friends and faith. She was born on May 8, 1939 in Saint John, NB, a daughter of the late Gregory and Elizabeth Fuller.
Margie is survived by Noel, her husband of 48 years; daughters Jennifer Creaghan (Mark O’Rourke) of Dartmouth, NS, Natalie Butler (Robert) of Vancouver, BC; sisters Marilyn (Jerry) Rioux of Dartmouth, NS, and Jane (Don) Halward, of Sechelt, BC; a very special Grandson, Rob, now living in Saint John, NB; two grandchildren, Jade and Jamie, living in Dartmouth, NS, two great-grandchildren, Landon and Declan; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews.
Margie was predeceased by her infant daughter, Kelly.
Margie graduated from Moncton High School in 1957 and from the Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing in 1960. Until her retirement in 2003, she spent many years tending the sick in Montreal and Saint John, finishing her career after years of serving in the Alzheimer’s Unit at the Loch Lomond Villa. Her retirement years were happily spent as a Snow Bird in Clearwater, Florida, where she made numerous new friends and received much satisfaction at flea markets, bingo, the casino, the pool, red hats, and shuffling. In summer months she always enjoyed picking blueberries, gardening, and swimming and sunning at “Margie’s Beautiful Lake.”
The family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (648-2424) with visitation on Tuesday, November 21 from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
