Lovingly Remembered
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Marcel following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Everyone who was fortunate enough to have known Marcel admired the positive attitude, optimism and determination with which he confronted all challenges, which no doubt is the reason he outsmarted cancer for so long.
Marcel will be sadly missed by his wife, Claudette; his daughters, Tracy (Rick) and Tammy; his granddaughters, Angela, Rachel, Haley and Jordan; as well as numerous other family members and cherished friends.
Marcel was predeceased by his mother, Angela, and his father, Gus; and is survived by his three brothers and one sister, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and as per Marcel’s expressed wishes, no formal service will be held. He never wanted people to make a fuss over him. His greatest passions in life were his wife, his children and grandchildren, his friends, his motorcycle and his hunting.
Marcel’s family extends their sincere appreciation for the heart-felt care provided by Family Physician, Dr. Sharmeen Shaikh; Medical Oncologist, Dr. Jennifer Spratlin; as well as all of the wonderful nurses, support staff and volunteers at the Cross Cancer Institute.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute or a charity of your choice.
