Mrs. Madge Elaine Despins (nee Winters), beloved wife of Mr. Reg Despins of Innisfail, Alberta, passed away after a brief illness, at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the age of 72 years. Madge was born on September 11, 1944 at Red Deer, Alberta. She received her Registered Nursing Degree at Edmonton, Alberta; where she met and married her husband, Reg. The couple lived at Edmonton, Calgary, Drumheller, Eckville and lastly at Innisfail. Madge spent many years as a Registered Nurse; mostly at the Eckville Hospital, and she also owned the Frame Shop at Eckville. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; and will be dearly missed but forever loved and cherished in the hearts of her family and many dear friends. Madge will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-one years, Reg; her children, Brad, Terry, Greg and Pam; and special grandchildren, Matthew, Jordon, Justice, Samantha, Garen, and Kaitlyn. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Rose Winters, Donna Nutter and Lorraine (Mel) Jewel. Madge was predeceased by her father, Don Winters, mother, Dott Benson, step father, Tom Benson, a daughter, Kim Despins and a brother, Cec Winters. An informal Memorial Gathering will be announced at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Madge’s honor may be made directly to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.ca. to honor both Madge and her beautiful daughter, Kim.
