1941-2016
The death of
Lynda Blanchard of Saint John occurred on Monday, December 5, 2016 at
Bobby’s Hospice. Born on October 24, 1941 in
Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and Gertrude
(Theriault) Blanchard.
Lynda started
her working career with Dominion Stores and retired as a Lab
Technician with Canadian Blood Services. She enjoyed
participating within her community and spent numerous hours
volunteering with L’Arche Saint John and Saint John Right to
Life. Lynda was also a member of the Legion of Mary at Our
Lady of the Assumption Church and often assisted the Knights of
Columbus with their community meals.
Lynda is
survived by her siblings, Irene Henschel (Bernie) of Ontario, Lorraine
Bourque of Saint John, Rose Webb (Richard) of Fredericton Junction and
Eddy Blanchard (Noella) of Saint John; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Lynda’s family would like to express a
special thank you to the staff of the SJRH Oncology Unit and
Bobby’s Hospice for the excellent care that was always
provided to her.
Resting at
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday,
December 7, 2016 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 360
Dufferin Row, Saint John on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 12:00
Noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross
Cemetery.
In lieu of
flowers, remembrances may be made to L’Arche Saint John,
Saint John Right to Life, Bobby’s Hospice, Our Lady of the
Assumption Church Building Fund or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
