1928-2017
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lewis Campbell
MacDonald (Lewie the Painter), Of Clydesdale, Antigonish County,
announce his passing on December 10th, 2017in
The VG Hospital, Halifax. Born in Antigonish on August
18th, 1928 to the late James and Jessie
(MacCrae) MacDonald. Lewis was predeceased by the love of
his life Lois (Conway) 2006 after 52 years of marriage and daughter
Barbara Anne (1960), his brothers James, Joseph and William his
sisters Sara, Mary, Roberta, Gertie and Teresa. Lewis is
survived by his sister Jessie (Sears) and his sister-in-law Nan
(William). He leaves behind his three children Paul (Mary Anne Moore)
Teresa (late Fred Viau) and Catherine Anne (Gregory MacDonald) and 60
nieces and nephews who are heartbroken at the loss. Lewie
was an exceptional hockey player and avid outdoorsman, a master
painter, ball room dancer, fly fisherman, BBQ’er
extraordinaire, and a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. As to our
father’s wishes there will be no viewing. Please
come join us for a Funeral Mass at St. Ninian’s Cathedral,
11:00am on Saturday December 16th, 2017
reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please make a
donation to an animal rescue of your choice.
