Obituary for Leonard “Len” Stoll
With family by his side, Len died peacefully on November 10 at The Courtyards on Eagleson and leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 59 years, Clara (Wagner), his daughter, Lana (Tim Hockey), his son, Mike (Manuela) and grandsons, Stephen and Matt Hockey.
Born in Neudorf, Sask. to the late Konrad Stoll and Catherine (Goebel). Predeceased by his son Kent, granddaughter Rosie, sisters Winnie (late Karl Stoll), Lillian (late Alfred Senft), Emma (late Reinhold Senft) and brothers Wilbert (Doreen) and Lloyd. Len is survived by his brother Herb (Sue), Adeline (late Elmer Senft) and sister-in-law Dolores Stoll and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Len launched his 37 year career in banking with Canada Trust in Regina in 1953. Following moves to Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Regina and Calgary, he settled in Ottawa in 1977 where he retired in 1990 as Vice President of the Northern Ontario Region.
As a long time member of the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, curling and golf filled many happy hours. In 1990 he gave up the broom to seek warmer climates in Florida to escape the long cold winters.
A reception to celebrate Len’s life will be held at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club on Saturday, November 18 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
Special thanks to the staff at The Courtyards on Eagleson for their loving care and kindness to Len and the family during his short time there.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Dementia Society of Ottawa or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
