LEBEL, Pierre
2017-05-03
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Pierre LeBel on May 3rd at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Pierre is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Bissonnette LeBel and their children; Lise (John), André (Pearl), Jean-Robert (late Wendy Glasgow), grandchildren; Barbara, Andrea, April, Samantha, Cristal, Neil, Chris, Bobby as well as many great-grand children.
On December 28th, 1932, Pierre was born the seventh of eight children to Elise Morrisset and Donatien LeBel in Saint-Donat-de-Rimouski, Quebec. He leaves behind three sisters, Ghislaine, Simone and Noëlla.
As a young man, Pierre served in the Canadian Air Force. He was a strong, independent man that worked right up to the end. There was no stopping him. He played Badminton for over 65 years and even while receiving cancer treatments. He was the president of the Badminton Club of Chateauguay for 35 years.
Pierre was a very social and fun person to be around. If Pierre was around, you were going to be laughing! He really was the life of the party. His laughter was contagious and he kept everyone in great spirits.
He will be greatly missed by all.
The family welcomes you to a memorial on May 9th, 2017 between 1:00pm-4:00pm to celebrate the life of Pierre. A service will follow at 4:00pm in the chapel, followed by a reception upstairs at
Alexandre Nicole complexe funéraire, 96, boul. Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Châteauguay,
96, St-Jean-Baptiste Blvd.
Châteauguay, QC
J6K 3A6
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Cancer Society.
