Obituary Overview
Leah Kreewin
Leah Kreewin, aged 80 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the TBRHSC. Leah was born January 16, 1937 in Fort Frances, Ontario. Her family was very important to her and she always put others before herself and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was an active volunteer in the community for many years, including the Port Arthur General, TBRHSC where she received her 20 year pin, Westmount Hospital, Westmount-Hogarth, 55+ Centre, Shaw Cable and the Thunder Bay Legends. Leah received recognition for volunteerism from the Province of Ontario, City of Thunder Bay, the TBRHSC and Shaw Cable. Survived by her husband Donald Kreewin; daughters Debra (Dave, Alberta) Hannaford, Brenda (Becki Allen, Colorado) Bedard, Sherry (Roland, Thunder Bay) Morettin; grandchildren Michael, Chris (Kaitlyn), Caitlin and Eric; great grandchildren Damien, Colton, Emily and Sophie; nephew Rob; brother Bob Gillet (Sharliene, Trenton). Predeceased by her parents Marcel and Winnifred Gillet and her brother Terry Gillet. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leah can be directed to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation Family Care Grant. Thank you to Dr. Martel and the nursing staff of the TBRHSC ER, Dr. Kevin Miller, Dr. Andrew Migay and the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice, TBRHSC, St. Elizabeth and CCAC and to Jeff Yahn, nurse practitioner. Leah will be dearly missed by all and leaves a void that won’t be filled. We Love You.
