Laureen Chute (Viens), beloved wife of Glenn Chute, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on December 24, 2017 at the Fort Macleod Health Centre Community Care Beds, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Marie Bernadette Laureen was born in Ponteix Saskatchewan, where she lived briefly before moving to Fort Macleod where she spent the remainder of her childhood. Laureen was the 2nd of 7 children born to Bernard (BJ) and Laureanne Viens.
Shortly after High School Laureen joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as an MP. Here she met her first Husband with whom she had 4 children. After moving around some Laureen Settled in the City of Calgary to raise her Children.
In 1983 Laureen met and married her second husband Glenn Chute, the love of her life with whom she would spend the next 34 devoted and loving years.
In 1996 Laureen and Glenn pulled up anchor and moved back to Laureen’s childhood home of Fort Macleod to be closer to her 6 siblings. Here they would stay until her passing. Both Laureen and Glenn found comfort and friendship at the Christ Church Anglican where they attend for many years.
Besides her loving husband Glenn, Laureen is survived by her Children, Kaci (Andrew) Reckord, Stuart (Tina) Simpson, Nadine (Thomas) Cardinal, Gregg (Natasha) Simpson and her 7 grandchildren, Her sisters Paulette (Cliff Sheridan) Webb, Giselle Gregory and Denise Emerick and brother John (Donna Viens). She was predeceased by her Parents Bernard and Laureanne Viens, sister Colette Dersche, brother Paul Viens, Brothers in law Wayne Gregory and Dick Webb.
Laureen’s family would like to send a special Thank You to staff of the Fort Macleod Health Centre Community Care Beds and Palliative Care unit, where Laureen received for the tender and supportive care given during her time with them.
A memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday January 4, 2018 at Christ Church Anglican 320- 21st St Fort Macleod. In lew of flowers, donations can made to Fort Macleod Health Centre Community Care Beds via the Fort Macleod Ladies Auxiliary.
There’s still time to send flowers to the Celebration of Life at the Christ Church Anglican at 1:00 PM on January 4, 2018.
