It is with the heaviest, most painful hearts imaginable that the family of Kelly Gee announces her unexpected passing, which occured at her home on Thursday, December 21st, 2017. Kelly was born in Saint John on July 8th, 1961; the dear, beautiful daughter of Stanley F. and Kathleen (May) Gee and the treasured sister and best friend of Penny Gee and Robin Martinez.
The end of her life here on earth marks the beginning of her new life – her Eternal Life with Jesus in Heaven. She may have remained unmarried here on earth but the sweet, pure bride has united with her Groom (the Lord) and now The Lamb of God is sheltering her in His strong and gentle arms of Love. She is in the presence of the Lord right now, beholding Him face to face in all of His glory. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” – Psalm 116:15 (KJV)
She lived her life for the Lord and loved talking about Him and reading the Bible. She always wore a cheerful smile and she had an inner light that shined brightly for all to see. She was one of the ones who “endured to the end”. She did not ever once abandon her faith, though she had periodic health issues since the age of 17. She always knew that this life is temporal and that “only one life twil soon be passed, only what’s done for Christ will last”. Kelly was the kindest, most beautiful-hearted person ever. No exaggeration. She was a wise, caring, compassionate, loving, loyal, soft-hearted, intelligent, creative, helpful, gentle, precious woman. There will never be another Kelly Gee. Not ever. She had so many wonderful attributes.
Kelly was an avid crafter, knitting slippers and scarves for family and friends, and making sweet and loving handmade cards for her family. She loved playing board games, watching retro TV shows, doing jigsaw puzzles and 3-D puzzles, she was an avid reader, a history buff (with a particular interest in the Titanic disaster and New Brunswick history), she enjoyed lively conversations about news and politics, and she loved going shopping, visiting parks, and spending time at coffee shops with her sisters. Kelly delighted in helping others and was always the first to offer any help in any way. She was a generous, giving soul. She cherished her family and had a deep bond with each one of her loved ones. She brought such joy into the lives of her family.
Upon taking her final breath, Kelly was surrounded by all of her family in the warmth of her earthly home amid much love. Through all of the tears and sorrow, her family takes great consolation in knowing that she is Home with her Lord and Saviour. They know that she was ready. Her salvation was secured. This is their great comfort and “peace beyond all human understanding”. She is now safe from all sickness and harm and is living in complete happiness forevermore. She is happy, she is healthy, she is alive and well. She is not dead. She is alive. She has everything that her heart longed for during her years as a born again Christian. To be with Jesus.
Her family knows that they will one day be re-united with their precious Kelly in Heaven. They will see her again and there is a secure feeling in knowing 100% that she is safe and happy with her Lord for all eternity. Her family’s loss is her gain. “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” – Philippians 1:21 (KJV).
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5 (KJV)
Kelly is survived by her beloved parents, Stanley F. and Kathleen (May) Gee of Saint John, her sisters Penny Gee and Robin Martinez, both of Saint John (who were also her caregivers during this past year) and her brother-in-law Joseph Martinez of Saint John. Kelly was pre-deceased by her grandparents Stanley E. and Beaulah (McMann) Gee, as well as Carroll and Kathleen (LeGoff) May. Kelly’s family invites you to join them at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday, December 27th and Thursday, December 28th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A service celebrating Kelly’s blessed Homecoming will be held on Friday, December 29th at 2pm, from the former St. Joachim’s Church, 603 Loch Lomond Road. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
