Katherine Frances Casper
Katherine Frances Casper (nee Degenstein), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie on Friday, January 13, 2017, at the age of 95 years.
Katherine was born in Foremost, AB on May 17, 1921. She married Charles in 1945, and they had five sons, their eldest, Edward, died in infancy. The family moved to Fairview in 1963, and then to Grande Prairie the following year. The family has worked and framed in the area ever since.
Katherine was predeceased by her husband Charles, son Edward, parents Joachim (Jakob) and Elizabeth, and her seven siblings: Frank, Joe, Stan, Pete, Adam, Mary and Barbara.
Katherine will be missed by her four sons: William (Marlene), Ronald, Robert and Randy (Jerri); five grandchildren: Jim (Sarah), Chrystal, Ethan, Konner and Chandler; two great-grandsons Blake and Bennet; as well as other family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 1:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.), followed by a luncheon and interment at Grovedale Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the nurses on 3 North for our Mother’s wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
