Obituary of Karen McNeill
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen McNeil at the Glace Bay Hospital on Monday, December 18, 2017. Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of Margaret (LeBlanc) and the late Peter MacIntyre.
Karen had a varied work history which included dietician, domestic and restaurant cook. She loved to go dancing at the local Legion with her many girlfriends and enjoyed regular company at the downtown Tim Hortons.
She is survived by her mother, Marg; her children, Charmaine (Bill), Peter (Tiffany) and April Whelan; their dad, Tony; sisters, Marlene (John) Macleod, Margaret Jean and Bernice; brother, Tom; sisters-in-law, Loretta (Mickey-deceased) and Sherry (Adie-deceased).
Besides her father she was predeceased by son, Shannon Whelan, and brothers, Mickey and Adie.
Visitation for Karen is scheduled for Thursday from six to nine p.m. in Curry’s Funeral Home 775 Main St., Glace Bay. Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church with Father Norman MacPhee officiating.
Donations in Karen’s memory are suggested to Cape Breton Transition House or charity of choice.
