Suddenly and peacefully in her home on Friday April 7, 2017 at the age of 50. Survived by her loving daughter Kaylie Mitchell. Survived by cherished father Neil (Carol) and predeceased by mother Meryl (1996). Dear sister to Victor and survived by Mark (Denise) Mitchell and their son Travis. Karen’s life was defined by connection with people. She derived great joy in sharing family events, meeting people wherever she went, as well as a “moral compass” regarding treatment of all living creatures. She was never more proud and certain of her real purpose in life than when she spoke of Kaylie. We will miss your laughter, joie de vive, and the heart to heart hugs. Private cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, April 14 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
