1951-2017
The death of Karen Lynn (Cunningham) Merritt, loving wife of
Gordon Merritt, occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional
Hospital on Saturday, May 6, 2017 surrounded by her family. Karen was
born on March 26, 1951 to the late Kenneth and Winnifred (Palmer)
Cunningham.
In addition to her husband Gordon, Karen is survived by her
children, Jennifer (Keith) Hawkins of Saint John and Jay (Megan)
Merritt of Moncton; siblings, Janice Downs of Montreal, QC and Randy
(Elaine) Cunningham of the Annapolis Valley, NS; four grandchildren:
Carter and Rylie Hawkins, Molly and Anna Merritt; and mother in law
Mildred Bishop.
Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her step
father William “Bill” Megarry.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint
John, NB (634-7424). At Karen’s request there
will be no visitation or funeral service. Friends and family are
invited to attend a reception to celebrate Karen’s life at
Brenan’s Reception Centre on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from
2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Karen may be made
to Bobby’s Hospice.
