Judith Gail Cromwell
1942-2017
It is with
profound sadness the family of Judith Gail Cromwell announce her
passing. Judy was called home to join our heavenly Father in
the early morning of November 18, 2017, peacefully at home with her
family at her side. Judy leaves behind a family with unmeasurable loss
and sorrow but who are so very blessed to have had her with them for a
lifetime of happiness, love and laughter. Born July 30, 1942 in Saint
John, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Williams) Titus and the late
Lewis Titus.
Judy’s many years of teaching in Quebec and
New Brunswick, ending her career at Westfield Elementary School,
fulfilled a lifetime dream of inspiring young minds. To Judy, every
student was a treasure and it meant the world to her that she was
given the gift to teach, encourage and develop her special students.
She had a voracious appetite to read and encouraged all her students
to explore and develop a love of reading.
Whatever Judy
did she took on with a passion, whether it be sewing beautiful frocks
for her wee grandchildren or planting in her garden giving back to
Mother Earth. As retirement neared, a new talent emerged. She eagerly
embraced an artist’s palette from which many family and
friends were the beneficiary of her wonderful and whimsy artistic
gifts. Judy so looked forward to her Monday morning art club and
countless hours spent in her painting
loft.
Judy’s courageous 4-year battle with cancer
is now finally over, a battle she profoundly won. She never once lost
control of what she wanted and how she wanted things done. Judy was
nothing short of a “miracle woman” – throughout this entire
journey she was always raising the spirits of others with kind words,
warm wishes and her amazing sense of humour. A remarkable human being.
Her family will sadly miss her forever but will always carry her on
every journey in their hearts.
Judy was
predeceased by her father, Lewis and leaves behind with heavy hearts
her mother, Dorothy Titus and beloved brother, Richard Titus (Bev);
grateful to have been her daughter and best friend, Kimberly MacKenzie
(Robert) of Grand Bay-Westfield; sons, Greg (Leanne) of Tantallon, NS
and Andrew (Krista) of Palm City, FL; the light-of-her-life
grandchildren, Chelsea, Kaitlyn (Jorge) and Colin (Karlee) MacKenzie,
Cameron and Carson Cromwell and Brandon, Austin and Alexis Cromwell;
great-grandchildren, Kambree, Kendall and Luka – her “little
lovies”.
The family
extends their warmest heartfelt thanks to the Saint John Regional
Interventional team. Special thanks to Ralph Johnson and the EMP team
for their compassion, care and support. We will forever be
grateful.
Arrangements
are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral
Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424 where
