John Adams

Adams, John … Passed away peacefully at Riverbend Place,
Cambridge, on Monday February 6, 2017 at the age of 90. Predeceased
by his first wife Thelma (1975) and his second wife Betty (2016).
Cherished father of Greg Johnston (Elise), Sharon Scanlan (Tom), Cathy
Whiteside (Paul), Paul Adams (Lorraine) and Robert Johnston (Lisa).
Proud grandfather to Siobhan, Matthew, Darren, Victoria, Laura,
Samuel, Monica, Sarah, John, Denise, Joseph, Adam and Madeline and
great-grandfather to Cooper and Ryder. Beloved brother of Helen
Gryba, Theresa Ferenbach, Delores Price, Diane Blehm and Andy Adams.
John will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended
family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Mary and Wendilen
Adams and siblings Michael, Joseph, Edward, Donald , Leo, Bertha,
Katherine and Clementine, and granddaughter Carolyn. John was born in
Saskatchewan and he never forgot his roots. He will be fondly
remembered for his many years as a custodian at St Ambrose School in
Cambridge and by his numerous friends in the Ancient Mariner’s
Canoe Club and the Swinging Eights Square Dance Club. John was a
gentle, generous man, who loved family above all else, and treated
everyone he met with great patience, dignity and respect. Cremation
has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Ambrose
Roman Catholic Church, Chalmers St. S. (at South St.), Cambridge, on
Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11a.m. As an expression of sympathy,
donations made to the charity of your choice would be greatly
appreciated. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the
staff at Riverbend Place for the loving care provided over the past
several years.
