We are saddened to announce Joan’s passing, peacefully in the early morning of December 14. Predeceased twelve days by her dear husband of 71 years, John B. (Jack), Joan was a loving mother to Jane (Gord) and Debby (Randy) and Granma to five grandchildren and Great-Granma to five great grandchildren. Born in Cardiff, Wales, UK, she was married in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1946 and enthusiastically embraced life in her new Canadian life. She brought up her family in Montreal, Quebec, enjoying summers at the cottage, swimming, canoeing and water skiing and winter weekends, snow skiing in the Laurentians. Joan often recalled her British school days, playing games, captaining the field hockey team, choral singing, cycling to the beach, rain or shine and visiting with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Later in life, Joan and Jack travelled extensively, always sharing many interesting stories and pictures on their return. She is fondly remembered by her family and friends.
