Obituary for Jesse Ivan Sampson
SAMPSON, Jesse, of Sheshegwaning, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday November 21, 2017 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Adeline for over 62 years. Jesse will be sadly missed by his children Elizabeth (Joseph) Laford, Silver Water, Sandra (Dalton Fogal predeceased) Sampson, Sheshegwaning, Virginia (Donald -predeceased) Matheson, Silver Water, Leslie Sampson, Toronto, Blair (Amelia) Sampson, Sheshegwaning, Cynthia (Scott Hunter) Benedict, Meldrum Bay, Gloria Debassige, Sheshegwaning, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, sisters Barbara Sampson of Toronto, Norma Sampson of Philadelphia USA, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Ivan and Louise (Jackson) Sampson, sisters Muriel McCulligh and Ella Sampson and “Scamp”, his faithful companion. Jesse loved to read, especially his National Geographic and Sudbury Star, as well as watch his favourite T.V. shows. He was an avid hunter, and had a passion for the slots, bingo and his daily scratch tickets, crossword puzzles, playing the fiddle and his taxi runs. Visitation will be held at the Sheshegwaning Community Complex on Thursday November 23 from 1 pm until time of the funeral mass on Friday at 11 am. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy and may be made through www.simpsonfuneralhome.ca
