Jerome MacDonald
Sydney Mines
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jerome MacDonald, 85, of Sydney Mines, on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
Born in Florence, on October 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Walsh) MacDonald.
Jerome is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Adeline Brennick, and his loving children, Ellen (Daniel) Clarke, Linda (Gilles) Maillet, Debbie (George) Podetz, Brenda (Joey) Andrea, and Janet (Greg) Dicks.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Jim, Danielle, Tyler, David, Jonathan, Melissa, Nicole, Leah, Stacy, Cheryl, Maria, Joseph, Jaclyn and six great-grandchildren; Drake, Leo, Alexander, Lucas, Sadie and Lydia, his sister Marie Bianchini, and brother Neil (Beulah) MacDonald.
Jerome was a kind, gentle man who loved life and whose greatest joy was his family. He was a man of great compassion and generous nature, who demonstrated goodness and kindness every day of his life… we are so blessed to have called him our own.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Michael Dicks, grandson–in-law LT Gallant, as well as his brother Alex (Lally) and sisters Loretta and Margaret.
