VAUGHAN, Jerome “Jerry” Arthur – 82 of Greenwood passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born July 19, 1935 in McAdam, NB, he was a son of the late Vernard and Viola (McLauglin) Vaughan. At age 18, he took a barber course and worked at the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel in Fredericton. Jerry then went to NBBI for three years, followed by working with CSSM and then joined Village Missions and pastored at three churches over a nine year period. He worked for a time with his brother in law in London, ON in the Floor Service Business. In 1981 Jerry, Elizabeth and their daughter Ruth came to Nova Scotia and he returned to barbering at Mark’s Barber Shop in Greenwood for the next 23 years. During this time, Jerry held Bible studies at three different special care homes in Berwick. In 2004, he retired due to a series of strokes and heart surgery. Jerry is survived by his wife the former Elizabeth Giffen, daughter Ruth Vaughan, Kingston; grandsons Austin Leigh MacMaster; Keagan Vaughan and sister in law Faye Vaughan, Fredericton. He was predeceased by his sister Marjorie and her husband Bud McDowell as well as his brother Fred; also niece Nancy Vaughan. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 27th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902 825-3448. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28th in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square, Pastor Patrick Gilbert officiating.
