Obituary of Jean Curry
CURRY, Jean F.
Glace Bay
It is with a profound loss that we relate the passing of our beloved wife and mother Jean F. Curry, at her home, on Sunday, December 17, 2017. Relatives, friends and acquaintances will remember Jean for her modesty, kindness and generosity. She was a beautiful, forgiving person.
Jean was a natural, prolific artist. Her paintings adorn several public buildings and many homes. Her talent for singing and harmonies were greatly valued by local choirs and singing ensembles. We must also recognize Jean’s contributions to the operations of Curry’s Funeral Home.
Jean was predeceased by her first husband, William (Bill) MacLean; three brothers, Donald ‘Hopper’, Laird and Roy MacLeod, and two sisters, Anne Saks and Mary Bisson.
She is survived by husband, Michael Curry, and son, Tom MacLean. She is also survived by nephews, Barry, Donald, Laird ‘Bucky’, Kenny, Brian and Scotty, and nieces, Betty, Wendy and Donna-Jean.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Allan MacLellan, St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Both will take place at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775Main St., Glace Bay, 902-849-7617.
