Obituary for Janet Rosalie Grace Girdler (Paris)
GIRDLER, JANET ROSALIE GRACE GIRDLER, nee PARIS January 28, 1934. On December 27, 2017 Janet, revered mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, serenely passed away with her children Andie, Beth, Mark, Dee, Bruce and her “best buddy”, her miniature poodle, Bobbie, by her side. Predeceased by Eric, beloved husband of 56 years, survived by her brother Gerald Paris and sister Shirley Paris, Janet will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses Becky, Lynne, Barb, David and John, and adored grandchildren Amy, Julia, Charlie, Dustin, Bobbie, Ben, Dan, Hollie, Sally, Colin, Harrison, Sydney, Matthew and Erica and great-grandchildren Tristan, Alice, Millicent, Charlotte and Zachary. An avid tennis player, and sport enthusiast, Janet revelled in the joy of competition. A voracious reader, she had a love of board games, the beauty in nature, her garden and the perfect cup of tea. Janet was proud of her sons and incredibly close to her daughters. Loyal to a fault and unwavering in her support of family, she had an amazing capacity for making everyone close to her feel special and she, in turn, will forever hold a special place in our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.at the Lindsay Golf and Country Club on 282 Lindsay Street South, Lindsay, ON K9V 4R5. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to a charity for which she actively volunteered and championed, the Alzheimer Society Canada. www.alzheimer.ca.
