Johnson, James Bancroft “Jim”– Of Douro- Dummer, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 19, 2017. He was 95. Jim was born in Toronto on November 16, 1921 to parents Chrissie and James L. Johnson. A hard worker from the start, he began his career in farming then, like many young men of his time, volunteered to join the Canadian Armed Forces. Shortly before being deployed to Europe in 1942, he met his future wife, Edna, when he asked her for a dance one night in Ajax. After the war, Jim and Edna were married and moved to Douro to build their home and family. Jim proudly resided in that same home for 65 years. Jim worked…
