The family and friends of Iona Youden lost an incredibly kind, strong, open-minded, intelligent and dignified lady from their lives on December 20, 2017. Iona leaves behind her two daughers, Joël Youden and Meredith Canty (Mark) who will miss her like crazy; her very close sister-in-law Jenny Tinker (brother, the late Bob), and nephews Scott and Keith (Nadine). While Iona’s immediate family will miss her terribly, they realize that many others will miss her as well; her lifelong Westmount friends and Rothesay girls, bridge groups, and book club. The family would like to send love and thanks for the support from family and friends during Iona’s illness. Iona wanted to express her sincere appreciation for the care she received from Extra Mural and Bobby’s Hospice. A private burial will be held, and a gathering to celebrate her life will be held on December 29th, 2017 at her residence from 1 pm to 6 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, or the Saint John SPCA.
