1941-2017
The passing of Hugo Peter Beier of Island View, NB, occurred
unexpectantly at the QEII in Halifax, NS, on Tuesday, December 19th,
2017.
Hugo was born on the 15th of November, 1941, in Jaegerndorf
(former CSSR). He immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1958. In
the early 1970’s, Hugo returned to Germany but his love for Canada
remained strong. While being employed with different International
companies, Hugo met and married Barbara Gerstmann in 1977.
He started his own business as an Industrial Designer. After working
with several exhibition systems, Hugo developed and produced his own
mobile system for exhibitions and trade fairs around the world. Upon
selling the business, they returned to his beloved Canada to
retire.
Hugo is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Island View, NB;
his sister, Traudi of Wilmington, NC; his brother, Walter and wife
Tina of Mission Viejo, CA; his brother-in-law, Klaus Wilde of Gronau,
Germany.
There will be a celebration of Hugo’s life in the J.A. McAdam
Memorial Chapel, 160 York Street, Fredericton, at 10 am on Thursday,
January 18th, 2018, officiated by The Ven. John Sharpe. For those who
wish, in lieu of flowers, Barbara would appreciate donations to the
New Brunswick Lung Association in Hugo’s memory.
