Herbert James Hardy – 1933-2017

The death of Herbert James Hardy of
Rothesay, NB, occurred on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his
residence.
Herb was born at Montrose, PEI, on February 16,
1933, son of the late Ralph and Millie (Gard) Hardy. Herbert moved to
the Rothesay area in 1969, where he was self-employed in the sand and
gravel trucking industry, supplying materials for the pipeline to
Coleson Cove in 1974. Herb, also demolished the old Turntable, the old
Marsh Creek Train Bridge and various other jobs for
CNR.
Herb is survived by his wife, Alice (Hosford)
LeBlanc, son Eric (Sandi) Hardy of Quispamsis, NB, three daughters;
Janice (the late Billy) Grigg, of Springhill, PEI, Brenda Banks (Roy
Gorveatt) of Harrington, PEI, Pamela (Wilson) Corrigan of Alberton,
PEI, brothers; George (Eileen) Hardy of Cassidy Lake, NB, Winston
Hardy of Summerside, PEI, sisters; Edythe (Wyman) MacArthur of
Summerside, PEI, Irene (the late John) Kats of Waterdown, ON, ten
grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, as well as several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Herb was predeceased by his
son Barry Lynn (1973), brothers; Wendell (2001), and Robert
(2014).

Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel for visiting hours on Tuesday
from 6-8 and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. Funeral Service will take
place at Bideford-Conway United Church on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 11
AM. Interment to take place at Bideford United Church Cemetery. For
those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bideford – Conway United
Church or to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
