1953-2017
Helen Mary Parlee (nee Wortman), of Knightville, passed away at the
Sussex Health Centre on September 21, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sussex, Helen is the daughter of Mary (Richardson) Wortman and
the late William Wortman.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by her mother Mary Wortman of
Sussex;her common-law husband Norman Shay of Knightville; her son
Terrence (Billy) Parlee (Yvette) of Penobsquis; her brothers: Sam
(Marilyn) of Sussex, Charlie of Saint John, David (Tammy) of Sussex
and Jimmy of Sussex; special uncle Doug Wortman (Dawn) of Sussex
Corner; grandchildren: Cory, Jesse, Nathan; great grandchildren: Avah
and Kiefer as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Joanne Rossiter who was Helen’s
special caregiver. Your kindness and care will not be forgotten.
Helen was predeceased by her father and her first husband Terrence
Parlee.
Arrangements are in the professional care of Sussex Select Community
Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506) 433-2133 from where
visitation will be held on Monday, September 25th from 6-8pm.
A service celebrating Helen’s life will be held at the Salvation
Army Church on Tuesday, September 26th at 2:00pm.
Interment will take place at Gosline Cemetery.
Donations in Helen’s memory to the Salvation Army Church would
be appreciated by the family.
