Obituary of Grant Shirk
Grant Shirk passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Friday, December 23, 2016.
Beloved husband of Audrey who predeceased him January 1, 2014. Devoted and loving father of Dan (Gail Bourhill), Jeff (Maureen Ramsden), and Jennifer and John Witzel. Special Grandpa to Amanda and Ben Underwood, Jason and Michelle Shirk, Erika and Mat Garraway, Amy and Nathan Johnston, Meghan Witzel and fiance Steve Gilhom, and Kelly Witzel and fiance Benji Jagger. Also survived by six great-grandchildren Sam and Jakob Underwood, Hadleigh and Tatrianna Shirk and newborn twins Lyra and Felix Johnston. He is survived by his sister Mary Hudson.
He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Allen Shirk and brothers Don and Keith.
Grant was a caring and thoughtful husband, father and grandfather, a faithful friend, an avid curler, and a passionate golfer. He was a lifetime member of both Calvary Memorial United Church and Westmount Golf and Country Club.
Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Grant with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at Calvary Memorial United Church, 91 Gruhn St., Kitchener on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11 a.m., Rev Lynne Bandy officiating. Please join the family following the service for a time of remembrance and refreshments.
