Obituary of Grace Walker
Grace Walker passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw. Beloved wife of Ed for over 58 years, also fondly remembered by sister Fern Mickleborough, sisters-in-law Barbara and Kay Burns, along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Daisy Burns, by her brothers Mel and Myron, brother-in-law Clarence and nephew Les. Grace was born on September 10, 1921 in Regina, SK to George and Daisy Burns. She grew up on the family farm and completed her grade 12 education and went on to Luther College to become a teacher. Grace married Ed Walker on July 4, 1959. Grace also taught piano to many young children throughout the years. In 1974 Grace formally retired from teaching at King George school in Moose Jaw. She enjoyed gardening, traveling with family, playing the piano, and painting. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw, SK. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, #301-2550 12th Ave, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1, would be appreciated.
