Obituary for Gladys Wynd
Passed away peacefully on December 15 2017 with family by her side. Beloved wife of Ian Wynd for 55 years. Loving mother of Bruce (Jennifer) of Tennessee, Shona (Mark) of Switzerland, Sandy (Richard) of the Cayman Islands and Alison (Duncan) of Guelph. Adored Grandma of John, Will, Matt, Thompson, Struan, Lauren, Caroline, Finn, Maisie, Harrison, Cole and Ewan. Gladys will be remembered by her sister Chrissie of Scotland , as well as nieces and nephews Norman, Alan, Ian, Lindsay, Wendy, David, Anne and John.
Friends and relatives will remember Gladys’ positive outlook on life, her generosity and kindness, and her gift with children. Her philosophy was to enjoy the simple things in life: watching the cardinals and hummingbirds out the kitchen window, keeping up with news of the royal family and she was a keen supporter of figure skating.
Gladys had a special place in her heart for her children and grandchildren. Each of them knew that she was their biggest fan. Gladys was happiest when she was with the love of her life Ian.
“‘Tis a gift to be simple, ‘‘tis a gift to be free
‘It’s a gift to come down to where I ought to be”
(Joseph Brackett)
A Celebration of Gladys’ Life will be held in the summer of 2018. Arrangements entrusted to the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
