Gerald Edward Madigan – 1928-2017

Gerald Edward Madigan
1928-2017
Gerald Edward Madigan, 88, of Fredericton, NB passed away
peacefully in hospital on April 22, 2017. Gerald was born in Montreal
and was predeceased by his parents and seven siblings. He is
survived by his loving wife, Anita, his children Philip (&
Chloe), Tess, Sue (& Ralph) and Maureen (& Darryl) and
his five granddaughters, Ella, Brook, Rachel, Evelyn and
Lauren.
Gerry spent his career with Stelco primarily covering the
Atlantic region as a sales representative. Following his retirement,
he enjoyed many trips to see family and friends. These visits took him
to various corners of the world, including the Yukon, Ireland, Japan
and Australia. He thoroughly enjoyed any opportunity he had to spend
time with his grandchildren.
He was a beautiful skater, a keen tennis player and an avid
baseball and football fan. He had a great sense of humour
and loved to tell a good joke, often laughing before he made it to the
punch line!
Gerry was a kind and beautiful soul who thought of others and
was eager to lend a helping hand. He loved a chat but more
so was always willing to listen and made those around him feel
comfortable and at ease. He was a thoughtful man and truly cared about
other people’s lives and their stories.
Those we love can never be more than a thought
away
For as long as there is a memory they live in our
thoughts to stay.
